For our final project, we were tasked with creating childrens toys with the program, 3DS Max. I was inspired by the toys I used to play with as a kid. I had a whole mini-kitchen with toy food and utensils and my siblings and I loved to play restaurant with them. I created a toy mixer and a wooden rolling pin like the ones I used to have at home. Once I was happy with the traced shape of the mixer I added materials onto my toys to make them look more realistic. I made the mixer mostly plastic with wood aspects and the rolling pin wooden as well to make the toys cohesive. The environment I kept pretty simple with the wood floors, a small table to represent a child's playroom and 2 windows showing the backyard in the background. This was the hardest project by far, not only due to my inexperience with this program but because of all the aspects that went into it. Coming up with a toy idea, making the toy look realistic, finding the right material, making the background and finding the right placement of the lights. |
