| For this project, we created a ring design in the program 3DS Max, which would later be printed in plastic with a 3D printer. First, we chose the size we wanted the ring to be and made a simple band in 3DS Max with those measurements. From there, we had freedom to create any design we wanted, keeping in mind the 3D printer might not be able to recreate extremely small details. I wanted my design to be pretty simple and have a uniform appearance. Once I was happy with my design, we applied materials so the renderings would appear more realistic. I chose to render mine with a gold and silver details to add contrast to the design. After completing the design and renderings, it was sent off to the 3D printer. |
