Sliceform
The sliceform project was the most interesting project in my opinion. We were challenged to create a 6 sideded figured in AutoCAD that was could stand (and was equal) on on one side. This was a unique deconstruction of the traditional cube. To do this we made cutouts from paper originally and practiced making our 6 sided figures with different lengths and cutouts to see how they would fit together. My sliceform did not successfully fit together because the top piece did not fit. That is because the right wall or "D" wall was not cut short enough. The final photo is an example of attempting to insert the top wood piece. I should have cut wall D a half inch shorter so the top would fit on. Therefore, the cuts I made for the top piece to slide in to the top were not accessible. Overall, I enjoyed this project though I struggled with it because it forced me to think similar to an architect. I also realized that paper is vastly different than wood and relied too much on the mealablity of paper.
