I created this ring using 3Ds Max. The original aesthetics were inspired by armor. I wanted the ring to cover the knuckle as armor protects the joints. The aesthetics of the ring are meant to challenge the traditional dainty aesthetics of rings and jewlery in general. When rendering the ring I chose non-traditional jewlery materials with deep color tones. Wood and turquoise compliment eachother well and add an earthy aesthetic to the otherwise aggresive structure of the ring. The ring was designed and sized for the thumb, but printed much smaller so it instead functions as a pinky ring. |
