Understanding color theory is essential for creating cohesive and visually interesting designs and pieces. This was my favorite project as I loved experiementing with abstract shapes and color.
Anachromatic: I created this anachromatic color scheme with several different patterns to show movement wihtin each color. The gradient of dark to light also showed movement and draws the viewers to look both left to right and right to left. The usage of anachromatic color adds a modern look to the work.
Primary: I used the primary color blue as my background and yellow and red as my foreground primary colors. I also used the hues between yellow and red to create contrast in my abstract triangle design. I showed movement in the horizontally and vertically.
Complimentary: This is my favourite work and I was inspired by rain and created an abstract depiction of the sun and rain. I enjoyed using values between my complimentary colors of orange and blue.
Analogous Cool: I wanted to create movement from the bars that are reaching across the artboard horizontally but never quite touching either side. I was inspired by the depections of levels in pixel video games like Super Mario Bros.
Analogous Warm: Orange is my absolute favorite color which I why I used it in 3 of my pieces. I created a cascade in a downward motion of semicircles and quarter circes using the pathway trim tool. This was inspired by the shapes of the moon but then switched to warm tones.
