For the ring project we used 3DS Max to create a ring sized for our own finger from the standard primitive shapes found on the software. I chose to create a ring that featured geometric cut outs (in the form of triangles and hexagons) spaced evenly around the circumference of the ring. Once our rings were designed, we worked on creating renders of our ring to show what they would look like in real life. I used a black polished metal to create contrast against the white background and emphasize the shapes that were pro-booleaned. After our rings were sent to the 3D printer and printed, we took pictures of our rings and edited them in Adobe Photoshop. I learned that 3DS Max is an incredibly useful tool in the world of design and I really enjoyed using it to bring my vision to life. |
