| For the ring assignment, I was asked to create a ring using 3Ds Max. Before this class, I have no experiences with this software, so that to me, the multiple perspectives that this software used to design is more challenging than all the software I learned to use before this project. I use most of the things I learned from the software demo to create my ring. My ring is not as creative as the examples I saw, but when I learn that my design will be printed by the 3d printer, I tried to make it closer to rings I would wear daily. When deciding on what to purchase, I usually value its usefulness to me. That is why I decided to create a more "normal" and a simple ring. After I finish the shape of my ring, I need to create a realistic background and apply materials to everything I created. The hardest part is to decide the color and adjust the materials of the rings. I was having a hard time to find the color I want to use that I am not satisfied with the result I have. I want the biggest stone to be a light blue or lake blue sapphire, the triangle like one to be shell-like, and the round one to symbol sand. |
