I created five compositions using five of the Gestalt theories using the Adobe Illustrator. Gestalt is a group of visual perception theories that help visual artists understand how to let audiences understand the messages in their artwork in an easier way. Figure and ground(figure1) theory refer to the relationship between figures and their background. This relationship sometimes creates drama, such as the two faces a vase image. Foreground, background, and midground theory depict how the audience might understand the object differently due to its shape, size, where it located. Closure theory explains how people tend to fill up the imaginary space to give the visual a more complete form. Continuation is audiences' eyes help them focus on the object and bring their imagination beyond the frame. Proximity is about how audience naturally group objects that place near each other. The similarity is about how the audience would naturally group objects that look similar to one another. Symmetry explains the relationship between two objects is completely symmetrical.
