New PhD Student

Titouan Camus has joined the lab to do a PhD tentatively focused on bringing to bear new silicified material, particularly early life history material, to the problems of higher trilobite phylogeny. Titouan did an MS split between Catherine Crônier's lab at the University of Lille, France, and Graham Budd's lab at Uppsala University, Sweden.

New MS Student

Ethan Bley, who has been in the lab for the past two years as an Office for Undergraduate Research Fellow, has joined now as an MS student. Ethan will be working on the early Tremadocian silicified faunas of the Barn Canyon Member of the House Formation in western Utah.

First Fieldwork Since Pandemic

Myself, Fran, Ryan, and Ethan will be heading out June 06–26 in a dual-Suburban convoy to the wilds of the Great Basin for the first time we have been able to do fieldwork since October, 2019. Three weeks seems like a long time, but I have way more things needing done than there'll be time to do them. Energy permitting, I hope to post daily updates on the Field Work page.

New Post-Doc

Francesc Pérez-Peris has joined the lab on a two year Swiss National Science Foundation post-doctoral fellowship. Fran comes to us from the University of Lausanne, where he completed a PhD on cheirurid trilobite systematics and biogeography.

New MS Student

Sebastien Mure-Ravaud has joined the lab group to pursue an MS.
