Typography is the art of designing with type. This is achieved by taking different fonts, type styles, type sizes, and other features, and then arranging them to make an appealing design. Many businesses use this in order to create their company’s logo. Others use it simply to make an artistic statement.

In order to demonstrate our knowledge of typography, we created ten different compositions. Each one was made on Adobe Illustrator using an 8x8 inch art board. We then chose five letters or symbols from different typefaces, and experimented with their arrangement on the board—being able to use different sizes, styles, and fonts until we created a composition that we deemed was aesthetically appealing.
