What is RUSLO?
RUSLO is a library of computer-based learning objects for teaching and learning Russian as a foreign language in the U.S. Our library is a network for teachers of Russian who are dedicated to embracing new technologies and distance-learning environments.

What are Learning Objects?
The term Learning Objects refers to a variety of tasks, exercises, materials, lesson plans etc. that are created using various technological tools for learning Russian. All Learning Objects in our library adhere to the ACTFL standards of Foreign Language Teaching and TORFL standards for Russian.

Who are we?
This project started with the STARTALK grant awarded in 2012 to Program Director, Dr. Irina Kostina, and her two co-authors, Dr. Anna Kolesnikova and Dr. Marina Kostina. More information about the first STARTALK grant and its authors can be found on our main website2012 project. 2013 project

June 24 - August 10, 2013
STARTALK 2013 workshop at Iowa In the framework of our second STARTALK grant, the 7-week intensive workshop started at the University of Iowa on June 24 and continued through August 10, 2013. Twelve participants from all over the U.S. came to Iowa City or participated online. The learning objects resulting from this project can be viewed here.
