Heritage Language Learners Course || Online Resources

  • ЯЗЫК МОЙ - ДРУГ МОЙ

  • This set of materials is developed for the topic "Family" - part of a bigger curriculum for Russian heritage language learners developed by Drs. Irina Kostina, Anna Kolesnikova and Marina Kostina.

The curriculum for this course is based on both the macroapproach that involves tasks to connect heritage learners to the community in their area (can be their family or other Russian speakers in the area) and the microapproach that involves materials to improve the accuracy of their speaking and writing.

Each learning object developed in this project is a complex one that includes presentational materials for the teacher, independent-study or review resources and worksheets for assessment. This website gives access only to the online resources, whereas only the participating teachers have access to the complete data set.

A group of experienced Russian educators worked on these materials during their participation in our program "Bridging the Gap Through Standards and Technology: STARTALK 2013 Program for Russian Teachers".

NOTE: The updating of materials is going to be in progress in Fall 2013 and Spring 2013.
