Project Four required the construction of a form made from overlapping popsicle sticks. My first instinct was to create a form based on various spirals. However, though making spirals was fun, I ultimately found it to be limiting.
In order to find a different form, I started to create curved pieces made by very slight changes in the angles of the popsicle sticks. The end result was both zig-zag and wing-like. Its form describes the graceful and naturally chaotic directional changes inherent within the flight of either an insect or a bird.
