For the container project, we were to design a six sided container, drawing the plans in AutoCAD, to later be printed on cardstock and assembled. The container had to be able to stand on one side only, was only allowed to have three gaps around the enclosure, and could not be a cube. To make this we were given a 4”x4” template, only being allowed to cut on the lines and to stop a cut at the intersection of lines. We could cut pieces off the square but only if they were straight lines and went all the way across the square. I had a lot of fun with this project, but I will say it was a bit of a challenge to reassemble it each time. I am very happy with how myy design turned out, especially how random the exterior sections are cut, I think it balances out very nicely. |
