Hello everybody, and welcome! I am Enes Yıldırım, geospatial applications manager at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. I am also a Ph.D. candidate and research assistant at the University of Iowa. Here I share news and information about my research. Contact me with any questions!
Domain Expertise
Urban Flood Impact
I perform flood risk analyses on urban communities and create web-based systems using open source and licensed software. The analyses include managing property information, flood rasters, loss functions, and processing climate data.
Agricultural Flood Risk
I implement agricultural flood risk assessment by employing large-scale dataset to project catasrophy risk on crops. Tasks include managing statewide flood inundation maps, agricultural rasters, loss functions, and zonal statistics.
Mitigation Frameworks
Mitigation is one of the key components of a resilient community. I developed mitigation frameworks to support flood risk reduction decisions utilizing federal and commercial mitigation inputs and web-based technologies.
Data Analytics Platforms
I develop data analytics frameworks for cost-benefit analyses and decision support systems using historical datasets. The outputs allow to support and analyze past and potential mitigation applications over at-risk communities.
