Field trip to Turrialba Volcano in Costa RicaI spent several months conducting field work at Turrialba in the early 1980s and through the 1990s when earthquake and fumarolic activity was minimal. The 2000s have brought several significant earthquake swarms and significantly enhanced fumarolic activity. I returned to Turrialba in June, 2007 following the MARGINS "Workshop to Integrate Subduction Factory and Seismogenic Zone Studies in Central America" to observe this activity with Elicer Duarte and Erick Fernández from OVSICORI. |
