Mucharabi is a reinterpretation of the lace-making tradition originated with the early Portuguese immigrants. Interlocked circular pieces recall the lace structures made by my grandmother Palmira. One thousand aluminum sheet circles were designed using Computer-Aided Design and laser cut through CNC technology. Mucharabi can be interlocked in many different ways creating new arrangements.
