CCALT (the Chinese Computerized Adaptive Listening Comprehensive Test) presents 400 test items calibrated to the ACTFL proficiency levels from Novice to Superior. CCALT uses contextualized audio cues to present dialogs and monologs which are accompanied by multiple choice questions. When the level of the examinee is reached it will stop and report the level attained, preserving the testing data for the instructor. CCALT is designed as a placement instrument and/or a proficiency measure.

The DVD follows three experienced teaching assistants at the University of Iowa's Chinese Language Program as they prepare and reflect upon their classroom instruction. The accompanying guide supports the DVD with discussion questions and activities. All are designed towards the thoughtful application and adaptation of task-based language instruction in the curricula of proficiency-based language programs. 1999 The University of Iowa Chinese Language Proficiency/Placement Test. A 100-item placement/proficiency test covering listening, grammar, and reading skills. Administered by the UI Evaluation and Examination Service for the purpose of placement, GER for foreign language in Chinese, and outcomes assessment. Project supported by an Arts and Humanities Initiative of the UI in the summer of 1999.

1996 Alphabetically-Based-Computerized Chinese-English Dictionary. Member of Editorial Board (Editor-in-Chief: John DeFrancis), University of Hawaii Press.This is the first dictionary organized by a single-sort alphabetical order featuring a volume of 71, 486 entries, 833 pages. My contributions include proofreading the entire dictionary and creating example sentences for about 1,000 vocabulary items.
