Kenneth Weatherill Duck 1917-1986. He was a Conscientious Objector in WWII and yet served on the battelfield as a volunteer in the Friends Ambulance Unit for the entire lenght of the war, being awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French, and also the Dutch equivalent, for the same act of outstanding courage under fire, rescuing wounded men when he was unarmed and under direct enemy fire throughout.
