The Hallway House

Styrofoam and Funky Foam

This is a study for a concept house whose spaces’ width could not be wider than a hallway’s width (5 ft.). In that matter, the house develops in long, linear spaces, almost like blades cutting the landscape and defining different functions for each area. Located in a site facing the ocean, the possibility of great views from the ocean and to the ocean led to the decision of making those hallway-like spaces curved. The curve becomes an inviting element to the user to walk around and discover the whole hallway and from outside it brings more interest to the overall composition. Aside from that, all hallways have sharp ends to call attention to themselves and make them look even taller to compensate for their small width.
