MFA Thesis Research |
This is a research on the design of furniture pieces on which the layering of linear parts is applied. The linear elements are combined together but are not repeatedly the same. The have their qualities and form changed as they evolve, generating three-dimensional pieces.
Still a work in progress, the final product is supposed to be a piece of furniture built using Computer Numerical Control technology, used to cut the different pieces. The materials thought for the products is certified wood which raises awareness about issues of sustainability and reasonable use of natural resources. Benches, room dividers and other objects are currently being studied. It is also one of the objectives of the research to apply this concept to functional interior spaces and use Virtual Reality technology for its real-time experience.
