MA Thesis Research

This is a research on the design of a multifunctional room divider in which the concept of modularity was applied. The modular units took as a starting point the shape of a cube because of its geometric qualities (same width, height and depth) and because of my previous experience in other works in which I used the cubic shape that I had developed before this research started.

Some tests regarding shape and size of the unit were made in order to come up with its final design, from units that were based on straight lines and angles to curved-line units. Once this phase was over, an essay on the possibility of color was made in order to choose a color or colors for the final piece. Plastic was chosen to be the material of the final piece because of its versatility when it comes to colors, texture and production process.
