Fields of Specialization:
US/Mexico Border studies; Mexican literature; Chicano and Chicana literature; and US Latino literature.
Publications include short stories in international literary journals and newspapers (The Barcelona Review, El País Digital, Los universitarios) as well as in major anthologies on contemporary literature in the Americas (1998, Líneas aéreas; 2000, Se habla español, voces latinas en USA).
Academic publications include articles on Chicano poets Juan Felipe Herrera and Ricardo Sánchez, as well as on northern Mexican borderlands cultures, and the contemporary Mexican short story. Current projects include a recently completed novel, Esperando en el lost and found, and a book manuscript on Mexican border culture, Inter/Sections. Wandering and Cultural Liminality in the Northern Mexican Borderlands.
