I am currently working as Assessment Coordinator in ITS-Instructional Services at The University of Iowa. My colleagues and I design quantitative and qualitative research studies to examine how students and faculty benefit from different projects related to instructional technology. Currently, we are examining teaching and learning in the TILE classrooms (technology-infused classrooms for collaborative learning), the effectiveness and usability of the ICON course management system, and how traditional classrooms support student learning. The information we gather is shared with those who can improve the teaching and learning process at the university. I recently received my Ph.D. in the Program in Language, Literacy, and Culture at The University of Iowa, where I focused on the field of composition studies. In my dissertation, entitled "An Activity-Theory Analysis of How College Students Revise After Writing Conferences," I specifically examined how students respond to feedback from a variety of sources in the revision process. I have published an article in Writing Lab Newsletter and have another article in press at Computers and Composition. Curriculum Vitae (pdf) |
