If you give a hoot about the environment, ditch your tampon and make a huge impact.

80%

of U.S. menstruating women use tampons.

80%

16,000

The average American woman is estimated to use up to

16,000 tampons in her lifetime.

You seriously need to cut tampons out of your life.

Here's why you should.

taxes

taxes

$10 million

The gov makes serious cash off of your flow - to the tune of
$10 million

a year. That sh*t cray.

There isn't necessarily a "tampon tax." Rather, states tax goods that aren't necessities, with tampons being on that list. This targets only women that are already on the wrong end of the wage gap...

Minnesota, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania don't tax tampons. Gold star for them!

Cash money

$75-$100

Women spend

$75-$100

a year on tampons and pads alone.

$3 billion

That means major tampon companies are making over

$3 billion

on our periods every year.

Thats, like, A LOT of tampons...

and a lot of plastic... and waste.

So here's my beef with the gov about tampons - they don't require tampon companies to tell us whats in them... wtflow.

dioxins

Tampons contain dioxins which are byproducts of the bleaching process involved in the manufacturing of tampons.

But the tampon companies didn't give us this info... the World Health Organization did.

highly toxic

carcinogen

Dioxins are highly toxic and are a known carcinogen... Idk, I don't really feel like inserting the literal cause of TSS & cancer in my lady parts.

medical devices.

Tampon companies don't need to disclose their ingredients because the FDA considers tampons as medical devices.

$75 a year.

They aren't as scary as you think. And if you make the switch, you will save at least

$75 a year.

and you will do your part to reduce waste in the environment!

You are also eliminating your exposure to the toxic materials used in tampons. No TSS for you, hunnie.

If you're simply not interested in ditching your tampon, thats understandable.

Choosing to at least skip the scented tampons will make a big difference for you as scented tampons can mess with the pH balance in your vagina. Not good.

CMC, insecticides, GMOs

Vaginas are one the most absorbent parts of the body. Stop littering yours with

CMC, insecticides, GMOs

and other inorganic compounds by using organic tampons. This can help out the environment, too!

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS): a rare, life-threatening complication of certain types of bacterial infections associated primarily with the use of super-absorbent tampons.

TSS is caused by weird sh*t in tampons that the government doesn't closely regulate because TSS is "rare."
