Welcome to the Glaucoma Cell Biology Laboratory of the Iowa Glaucoma Center at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

Under the direction of Dr. Markus H. Kuehn the main goal of this laboratory is to determine the molecular events that lead to retinal ganglion cell death in a variety of retinal diseases. Our particular focus is glaucoma, but we are also investigating ganglion cell death in retinal ischemia and other optic neuropathies, such as idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

In addition to information about our current research projects you will also find contact information on these pages.
