Sorority T-shirts

For our sorority (and probably every other one out there) we find a million reasons to make t-shirts. For recruitment we have a different t-shirt for everyday that represents our chapter somehow to the new girls that we are meeting. One day we will just have the classy letters on it, another day we will wear one that shows our philanthropy and another day we will wear one that shows one or several of the activities that we put on or participate in.

Every year we do a mock Olympics for charity. Other sororities or just groups on campus sign up in teams and pay a certain amount to get in and then we go all out and plan games and matches for the entire day or sometime the whole weekend. Last years went really well and I was in charge of t-shirts for each team and sport. I found some really cute ones at a soccer apparel shop and we ended up using them again for this year.

I think that some people think it id dumb that we have shirts for everything that we do, but it also has a lot to do with the memories. Sure, I have a lot of shirts that I will probably never wear again after I graduate, but at the same time I have them to remember my college days by and the times I spent in activities with my sorority. Not only were they fun activities for us to do and put on, but so many of them were also for charity and the shirts remind me of all of the good that we have done as well.

Hopefully when I am older I can find something to do with all of these shirts in a way that can keep the memories. One of my friend's moms made a quilt from her old sorority shirts and it was so cute. It is such a great feeling to be involved in an activity like this and I want to be able to cherish and remember it forever. And then one day I can look back at all of the memories and tell my kids and grandkids about all of the fun I had and all of my close friends and sisters and also the impact that we made on the community today with the activities that we did.
