Beauty and Tea
At spas that I have been to in the past I have seen and had used on me tea bags. I have always wondered the significance of the tea bags were and if the spa had to order wholesale tea in bulk. I found out later though that white tea can benefit your skin. Free radicals from staying out in the sun too long, a poor diet and stress can cause your skin to be damaged and age early. By scavenging these free radicals, the white tea can help to protect the skin and reverse some of the damage that has been done to it. Herbal tea is also used to cleanse the skin and give you a healthy glow. Spas also have herbal tea because it produces an aroma that has a calming effect. Herbal tea also soothes away stresses and is believed to have some anti depressant effects as well. I can see why spas would want to have a bulk of this on hand. I can't imagine tea is that expensive, especially buying wholesale tea.
Tea has also been used to color hair. A friend of mine puts a lemon tea bag into hot water and then streaks her hair with it before going out in the sun to lie out or swim. This is a lot healthier for your hair then some of the products that they have out there that can damage your hair or fry it and make it look nasty. Tea bags are a natural and not as drastic way to lighten up your strands.
Tea bags can also be used to de-puff your eyes. After brewing them in cold water, you can put them in the fridge to cool them and then lay them on your tired or puffy eyes for about ten minutes.
There are so many other things that tea bags can be used for like for minor cuts and burns as well as a treatment for sunburn. I have also heard that by soaking your feet in peppermint herbal tea after a long walk, a run or a hard day on your toes you can feel instantly refreshed. And that by rinsing your mouth with winter mint herbal tea you can keep your mouth fresher than just using a regular mouth wash.
It is amazing how many things you can do with a tea bag!
