This was the hardest assignment I've ever had as a graduate student. Using only color schemes and shapes, we had to create an illusion that dusrupted a three-dimensional arrangement of cubes. First the colors were chosen and the design was placed onto a flat, two-dimensional mockup. Then the individual sides were divided up to produce a series of rhomboid shapes. These shapes were then skewed to become a perfect square and then printed and assembled into the final cubic arrangements. This exercise forced me to dive deep into some serious critical thinking and problem solving. The finished products came out surprisingly well.
