no wii for you
So i had received word (http://crayz.org/target_wii.php?zip=52246&asin=B0009VXBAQ) that Target now has Wii's. I was pretty sure the next shipment was the 21st, so i was extremely excited to see if i could get my hands on one today. There is a swim meet today, so it pretty much changed all of my training room hours, so i rushed to Target
(Iowa City
1441 Coral Ridge Ave
Coralville, IA 52241
(319) 351-5150)
at around 10am, with pretty much no one in the store. I checked the shelves and there were none, so i copied the look up number and checked one of the inventory scanners which said there were none on the shelf but some in the storeroom. There after I asked an employee if he could check, to which he showed me an empty shelf an offered to scan the LU to see if there were some in the back. I said I already had and there were in the back. As he was going to the store room to get me one (think I'm now a little excited) he asks the entertainment section guy who tells me there is none in the back. To which I say, "I have already checked." He offers to go to the back which I accept. He comes back and says there are some but are "on hold until Sunday." As I was walking away a few of them had a meeting where they the entertainment section guy was discussing how to handle the question of "Do you have any Wii's?" My suggestion say "yes, let me sell you a product we currently have in stock." I was going to buy other things as well, as I know this will get plenty of people in their store on Sunday looking for them and ending up buying plenty of other things instead. So unless you can find someone who will reason and think about the process, don't plan on getting a Wii until Sunday. In the end I got hosed. A waste of time, gas, and smashed dreams. I just wish the entertainment guy would have been honest from the beginning.

Shellie has two offices at the hospital. One of which has a window to the outside. Really all you can see is other offices, but there is a bit of a cubby where there are sometimes animals. There has been a squirrel that comes around every once in a while, but that's usually the extent of the wildlife. Yesterday on the other hand, there were two large hawks with lunch in hand. There were devouring another bird. The morale of the story is that sometimes coming to the hospital isn't going to save your life.

traveling band
Jon made it back from San Antonio. He has a lot of great pictures of the game and the river walk and some good stories from his weekend. Unfortunately, the Hawks couldn't pull out a win but all in all I think the trip went pretty well. Last night we were able to ring in the new year with all of Jon's old roommates. It was quite a night, as can always be expected when all of those guys get together. Now Jon is off again.......to Miami this time with swimming. He'll be gone for ten days. More stories to come when he gets back.
