a long trip
I made it back from St. Thomas after a jolt to the system. Overall the Virgin Islands were gorgeous. A few travel days made the trip a little long. Leaving from Cedar Rapids to Chicago then to San Juan with plenty of lay overs and bad weather. I would also suggest staying away from the Howard Johnson by the airport in San Juan unless you are looking for the rough crowd and that other type of fun. St. Thomas was unique as it truly was athletics meeting the island life, just a different atmosphere than how the mainland deals with deadlines. There was plenty of sun and food. I would highly recommend Havana Blue in the Frenchman's Reef Marriott for anyone who ends up there, just make sure you aren't the one footing the bill. Their motto You only live once, but if you dine well, once is all you need.
I have plenty more pictures that need to make their way onto flickr but all in good time. Thanksgiving was great, family was great, the weather on the other had was a shock to the system. Once back to Iowa City and done with laundry, grocery shopping, and starting homework I leave for Ohio State. Who knows how much research I am going to get done there, but I don't expect much. Well back at midnight on Sunday and wish the Hawks luck.
