Whats in My Bag

Whats in My Bag

Things of note for the day. I thought it would be interesting to find out what i put in my bag on a given day. Here's what i had on tuesday. I did have some food in there, but I ate it.
Another comment for the day. Somehow i missed that Johnny Cochran died. At first I heard it was a neurologic condition(?) upon further research the neurologic condition was defined as brain cancer. Medical terminology apparently does not go hand in hand w/ journalism.

politics in sport

apparently there are politics in sport. "A North Dakota legislator is trying to muscle Roger Maris' 61-homer season back into baseball's record books because of allegations that the three players who have surpassed him did so with the help of steroids."
i'm not falling on one side or the other. i just can't imagine it would be "ok" if someone used innappropriate methods to attain records and procedures weren't in place to stop it. that's just my $.02.

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing. I've begun transferring all the old pictures on the fotolog account, to a much more updated/advanced website. It's a lot smoother and has many more great features. You can begin to take a look at the http://www.flickr.com/photos/jfravel/
Unfortunately, the old photo website can no longer be used b/c the site has been hacked too many times (i.e. I can no longer log-in). Apparently fotolog has been under a denial of service attack. This means that I will be using flickr, but am limited to 100 pictures being viewable. Unfortunate events, but that forces me to keep up w/ pictures more. If anyone has any other idea's I'm open for suggestion.

NCAA Bracketology

ncaa tourney
i am doing horrible in my bracket. in fact i think i'm getting a d in bracketology. shellie is beating me like a rented mule

and i don't think it's possible for me to beat her any more. i'm just grateful to know she actually picked teams on records and stats.

spring break is over and i guess i have to get back to reality. upwards and onwards i guess.

I'm Back

well i'm back. i had a great night, and a great night to be surrounded by those who believe they really are Irish.
I finally finished the hawkeyehealthcare website earlier today. In the end it only took me about 2 months. Can't say I could have finished it faster. Hope everyone likes it. The final product won't be uploaded till next week due to the admin getting home next week. I hope people appreciate the amount of work that went into the final product. Amazing how I stayed home from spring break and worked on the project for a website that won't benefit many in the program currently. Here is a current screenshot of the the site.

horrible presentation

went to give a pretty good presentation on carnitine tonight. plenty of new research, and very well put together. first the original room can not be used because the projector's bulb is burnt out (aren't there already enough burnouts in college), then over a half an hour later, i am moved to another room. 20 minutes after i am scheduled to be done, and class is to be let out, the presenter in front of me kills the computer, and i am forced to go without presentation to a crowd who wishes to be gone over 20 minutes ago. what do you say,"don't kill the messenger." i don't think that would have helped. someone needs to use this in the labs. at least it wouldn't have killed my presentation. you live and you learn i guess.
