I have recently graduated with an engineering and art degree and am currently working on my MA degree in Art at the University of Iowa with an emphasis in metalsmithing and design.   People are always baffled as to why I would go from engineering to art but I feel my engineering background gives me a unique perspective in the art field.  I do not strictly stay in the bounds of metalwork but branch out and use new materials that are not traditionally used in art.
