From Mission Network: The Soli Deo church in Halle, Germany, has a teaching series on the book of Romans.  MMN workers Sharon & Steve Norton request prayer that believers will understand the foundation of Christian faith & apply its truths.


 

Church Council has approved using a calling service for announcements, cancellations, etc.  Please fill out the gold form in your mailboxes today and place them in the secretary’s box as soon as possible.  Thank you.

BRING YOUR CHILD TO SUPER SATURDAY at IMS, March 1, 9:00-2:00.  Cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for siblings.  IMS students will provide activities for children K-5th grade and daycare for children 10 months-preschool.   Bring a sack lunch for each child. The children will have fun and you get the day off!  Call IMS to register--656-2073--for Super Saturday!   
 
Crooked Creek Christian Camp invites you to join us on March 2, from 3-5 for a Lenten Prayer Walk. The afternoon is yours to follow where the spirit leads. There will be many different Meditation Stations, including the Prayer Labyrinth and other Lenten prayer resources. All are welcome to attend for as long or as little as desired. Please meet at the Retreat Lodge for more directions.
 
Hey Kids!  If you collected your coins for canoes and kayaks at Crooked Creek Christian Camp with the devotional calendar in January, send your donation to the camp by the end of February.  So far we can pay for 2.5 canoes with a goal of 9.  Thanks for your help!
 
Asenath Libby and Britt Hochstetler will present a joint senior recital celebrating the arts on Saturday, March 1st at 7:00 p.m. in Celebration Hall at Iowa Mennonite School.  Asenath will be performing vocal selections as well as works for piano and portative organ. Britt will be featured in ballet and contemporary numbers.  You are invited to the recital and the reception that follows.
 
MMA College Scholarships:  Students can apply for financial assistance through the MMA College Scholarship program.  Each year MMA offers up to 36 scholarships to students who are members of a congregation with an MMA advocate.  For details visit www.mmaynow.com.  Applications are due Feb. 28, 2008.

 

Eastern Iowa Mennonite Women’s Spring Retreat is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 8:30 AM – 12 PM. The theme this year is “Reaching Out to Friends around the World”. Speakers are Holly Blosser Yoder, Sherry Schrock and Anita Swartzendruber.  More details will be coming later.
